Nina Neo's 2013 first semester

Hey guys long time no chat.

Sorry for not posting an update for so long was burdened with lots of work and tests ><

But anyways, I'm so happy that the first semester is coming to an end! Aren't you guys happy?
To me, this semester had been SO tiring yet so enlightening :)

These are actually some of the highlights and difficulties of my semester can you relate to them?

First of all, the highlight of this semester was my service learning trip to Cambodia :D I can still remember working under the hot sun and playing with the kids. You know, after the trip, I actually developed a new found respect for construction workers haha. But I miss Cambodia a lot.

The next highlight is actually my passion for art. Ever since the December holidays, I've been painting and drawing during my spare time and when I'm feeling down. I'm glad to say I have improved over the last half year and I'm super thankful to have been blessed with this gift of drawing(not to be proud or anything I have lots more areas to improve on!) and a passion for it! So with the June holidays approaching, I hope to make more art pieces and work! I hope to further develop my creativity and actually do some pieces for my friends :D

But as much fun life can give you, there's always hardships to face. I've stumbled upon a lot of difficulties and learnt many new things.

School work and tests are one of the biggest difficulties as I'm not considered as those "smart" ones haha! It usually takes me to fail something or really bad results to understand that I have to work harder. So with a lot of hard work and food, I managed to pull through :) My results might not be the best but I know I have tried :D
Besides school work, I have also encountered something everyone gets now and then. Its called: Stress.
Stress bullies me all the time. But with friends, family etc. I managed to overcome stress. So remember when stress comes to bug you, just shoo it away! Sadly, stress has a best friend called work. You can't shoo work away and you can only complete it ): But try and look things at a fun perspective. After you accomplish work, go chill :P Well, at least that's what I do XD

These are some stuff i encountered for my first semester. I'm super glad its ending and I believe all of us deserve a well-earned break.

But with every break comes,

WORK
TUITION
REVISION

But also...

PARTYING
HANGING OUT
SLEEPING
EATING
SHOPPING(omg just remembered now got GSS!)

So make your holidays fruitful and get the best out of it! I hope all of you had a good semester and will have a awesome holiday ;)

Studies vs. Reality

HEY GUYS!

I wanna start off this blog by apologising... I've been so busy I haven't been posting updates sorry!

But anyway, today I'll be talking about Studies and Reality since so many of us are trying to hard to cope with our studies and exams. This are some ways to help and I hope they'll be helpful :D

Okay firstly what is studies vs. reality? Studies well is education and reality is like your life (; I feel one of the most important thing in reality and studies is how you balance your social life and studies!

I'll be focusing all on studies first then go on to talking about handling social life :)

Plan a timetable! You can't accomplish something without a proper schedule.

Grab a notebook or any planner that you have and just write down your goals for the day. Challenge yourself to accomplish all of them by the end of the day. If you succeed, reward yourself and relax :)

But!

Don't over do it and think your super woman! Set realistic goals that give you a challenge to get but are not impossible to complete. With this, your time management will be better and you can plan what you want to do each day :) As my dad says, take one thing at a time. Your never gonna achieve something within only a short period of work!

This leads me onto my next point. Stress management. Some people are workaholics and some people(like me) just want to relax all the time. You can either learn to take break and relax after finishing each task on your timetable/ checklist take a short bathroom break or a trip to the fridge *nom nom nom* or after finishing everything at one shot, take a long rest and just chill!

Remember not to pressurise and stress yourself out too much! Too much of everything isn't good ><
Know when to work and know when to relax. Don't over relax or else everything would start to snowball! (Snowball: accumulate and gets bigger) However, don't over work or you'll end up to stressed and tired );

The next thing is setting realistic and proper goals.

If you get a B4 don't expect to suddenly jumping to an A1 (probably gonna get a lot of hate from teachers) But if you work extremely hard, believe in the impossible :D
Goals can be achieved with consistency, work and revision. Pace yourself in everything you do. Set a target for each of your tests and work toward it. If you don't do as well, pin point the parts where you went wrong and work on them! Well I know easier said then done right? So try working with friends so you can motivate each other and strive for better results!

Lastly, handling your social life and relaxing. No matter how important studies are, you need a life too. After a long tiring week, go out hang out with some friends, have a good meal with your family or perhaps have some down time alone at the beach or maybe at home!

My favourite thing to do is just lay in bed and listen to songs :)

Well, I hope you liked this entry and I hope it helps! Study hard and play hard guys. All the best for exams and school. Don't worry JUNE HOLIDAYS ARE ARRIVING SOON!

Cya~

My passion: Drawing

Hey guys!
So I'm back with another blog entry (; So today I'll be talking about my passion, Drawing.

I only took an interest in drawing only in the middle of last year...Some people are late bloomers! D:

But anyways,

What got me interested in drawing:
-Pictures online
(It was actually a drawing by the person I admired) I was so0o0o0o inspired by it (T^T)

So I began drawing swirls and making up weird designs.

               This is one of my improved design

And this is one of my old ones.

I was super happy when i got 11 likes hehe how pathetic was I :P

So I started to take and interest in drawing and since my dad is also a designer, I began asking him questions on how to improve my drawings.

So ever since then, I've been drawing at home and in class when I'm super bored. BUT! I have to point out a fact. A lot of people think that boredom brings out better art. I must disagree with that. In my opinion, when I'm stressed or feeling a certain emotion, then I'll draw :D Haha that's what i just feel ^^
In class, It should be for you to focus and listening but drawing to remember facts is alright (;

Doodles away!~

But anyway, if you have a passion for something don't be scared to give it your all! After all you never know it might pay off. But if you don't succeed, it might not be the ideal thing for you, nonetheless, don't give up and find something else to pursue(;

Have a great week and spend the year well guys!

2013 loves you~

The heat.

I was raised by two loving parents. My mom teaches in the same school as me and my dad is a lecturer in Singapore Poly.

When I was in Primary 3, I was transfered from PLMGS to SCGS. Since then, I've been studying in SCGS and I'm loving everything here.(;

I'm now currently still in SCGS and I'm 14 this year :D I have two awesome best friends and a lot of other good friends in class and out of school.

I have a passion for drawing although I feel I can improve a lot on it and my goal is to take art next year in secondary 3.

So thats a sum-up of my life! Please visit my blog and comment on anything you want me to talk about. I'll try to have a daily/ weekly update~
